Review for Labrador Rescuers, San Diego, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My family and I adopted our first dog from LR in 2018 and just recently adopted our 2nd dog from them. Both times were wonderful experiences and made it clear how much they care about their dogs and finding them the best homes. They really try to find the best fit for you and for the dogs. We love our pups and couldn't imagine our family without them. My one piece of advice is to have realistic expectations and keep in mind that, despite the name Lab Rescuers, these are rescue dogs and most likely not purebred labs. We adopted our first dog at 4 months old and at the time he looked like a black lab but he grew to be 100 lbs with a long thick coat and curly tail - turning out to be a mix of St Bernard, German Shepherd, Chow, and Lab. Our 2nd dog is actually mostly Vizsla. But sometimes they do have purebreds or know the parents and can give you an accurate assessment of their breed mix, but sometimes it's just a best guess like most rescues. So if you haven't adopted before, just keep that in mind. We love our dogs and we thank Lab Rescuers for helping us find them. I 100% recommend adopting from LR, especially if you have young kids like us, and want to adopt a rescue dog but need to make sure that's it's been thoroughly vetted before you adopt, to ensure a good fit. There are so many great dogs that need a home - please adopt, don't shop! Thanks Lab Rescuers for everything you do!
