I attended a lecture and Q&A hosted by Janice Bremis, the director of EDRC, about eating disorders and how it could impact you throughout your lifetime. Throughout her lecture, she shared her own personal struggles with it, and while she was frank, she was also encouraging and even uplifting in some ways. She was very willing to go in depth with each of our questions and I thought her readiness to give us her contact information if we ever wanted to reach out felt very meaningful. As a teenager especially, I thought the way she spoke to us, candidly and respectfully, reflected her sort of willingness to understand us and empathize. It meant a lot and I left feeling reassured and knowing a lot more about eating disorders.
