Review for OREGON DOG RESCUE, Portland, OR, USA

Rating: 1 stars

I am writing this review and I admit I am not very happy doing it, that is why if I sound too harsh please understand....my heart is broken now.
We lost our Pepper in August, she was my little old lady and my daughter's first and only dog, we rescued her when she was 9. Pepper had some good years with us and we all fell apart when she passed, since then we've been trying to adopt another soul but as we all know since Covid everything is so much harder...
My daughter sent me a picture a this little dog called Yoda and this was another "let's try it again" with application and hopes. Later in the day my husband called me, he is driving out in the country carrying the COVID tests between medical facilities and labs for 12 hrs a day, so while we were on the phone he says "oh here is a call from Oregon Dog Rescue in Tualatin", so I got my heart excited for a sec, so he said"I will call you back".
I waited patiently and when he called back he was so excited he will go to see Yoda with my daughter tomorrow between 2 and 4pm, he also said they got disconnected because he was in the middle of nowhere, but he will call right back to finish the details.
He did called back and at the other end was Lindsey who works there, telling my husband that Yoda is no longer available, the gave the appointment to someone else...this was same day, only few minutes later. Please tell me how you feel as a stranger reading this, is that sounds fair, carrying, professional? So Lindsey automatically assumes my husband hang up the phone in the middle of conversation to set an appointment and never thinks to maybe call back my husband as a courtesy and ask him"are you still interested, we got disconnected", or anything on that line.
My husband gets on a area with more coverage and calls back and get Lindsey to give him the bad news, that is when he got out of line and says to her" we got disconnected, so you just call someone else, what about me, I just got f...ed on this deal?"
Lindsey got offended by the foul language, which what not directed at her at all and tells him he will never get a dog now because he cursed at her. With all due respect Lindsey a saint will outraged by the way you handled this situation, do you know we are people with feelings too?
YOU need to be carrying and understanding PEOPLE not just DOGS, if you treat a human this way, i wonder how you are with the little lost souls in that place?
Anyway enough anger, we were told to call the manager Deb Bowen and also told we will not get a dog there because my husband cursed an employee.
Dear Ms. Bower, if we do not get a dog from your facility it may not be a big deal for you and your staff, but we got very affected by this whole incident and I just want to ask, please don't do this to anyone, we have lost a lot this year, please train your employees in customer service and how to handle calls and PEOPLE. Thank you L Wynn
