Review for 3 Generations, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

3 Generations has carved out a unique and much needed space in addressing human rights abuses: making personal such large scale and unimaginably horrifying abuses such as genocide and child sex slavery so that the broader public can understand them on an individual level. People respond to stories, not statistics, and the challenge many issues face is that the problems seem too vast for individuals new to a cause to understand and care enough about it to act. 3 Generations does a tremendous service to the sector by telling individual stories in a compelling yet not sensationalized way, that honors the individuals profiled while making clear the devastation they represent. Creating this content would have been enough, particularly with the easy to share tools embedded in each video, but with 3 Generation's latest campaign against child sex slavery, they have given us the tools we need to not only care but to act, in a very accessible and clear way. Human rights issues are complex, but to rally broad public support we in this field need to do a better job of helping making complex issues more accessible and actionable. 3 Generations does just that. Kudos to 3 Generations for their work to expose genocide and for taking on the little known issue of child sex slavery in the U.S. They are an organization truly worthy of our support and I hope they will continue to tell stories that help people understand and care about these tragic issues.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Posting stories to my Facebook and getting reactions from individuals who had no understanding of the issue - particularly for their child sex slavery campaign.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Fund more stories from child survivors.

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & I have viewed and shared the stories on 3 Generations' website.
