My company joined Women in Film and Video in the Spring of 2020 after interviewing the Executive Director Melissa Houghton for a podcast we run on Women of the Film Industy. It has been nearly six months since that first contact and I regret not having become a member of this institution ten years ago, when I first incorporated my film production company. The wealth of knowledge, access and empowerment streaming from this society, and made readily available to indie film makers such as myself, is simply astounding. I have never felt more connected and "in the know" in my entire film career. To anyone who calls themselves a filmmaker, I highly recommend becoming a member and taking part in this local and national consortium. You stand to benefit and be inspired in ways you can not ye imagine.
