Review for Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, San Francisco, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I first learned about Breast Cancer Prevention Partners in 2003, when San Francisco introduced the Precautionary Principle. BCPP, then Breast Cancer Fund, was actively involved in drafting this ordinance. In the absence of conclusive evidence, “the burden lies with the producer to prove” a product is safe. For me, it just struck a chord and made so much sense. BCPP has also been instrumental in passing laws, which remove harmful chemicals from products. (When was the last time you bought a containing BPA?) Why is it that chemicals in beauty products are banned in the EU, but sold in the US? And the chemicals in the US-sold products are linked to cancer. The thing I appreciate the most about Breast Cancer Prevention Partners *is* their focus on prevention.
