Review for San Antonio Junior Forum, San Antonio, TX, USA
The San Antonio Junior Forum provides wonderful opportunities for its members to volunteer in service to the community and to work with other non-profits, as well. As a retired teacher I loved the Children's Art Project at the Southwest School of Art Fiesta event where we worked with children helping them discover their own art talents. Hey, Mom, I made a Fiesta medal! I painted a water color! I made my own sculpture!
It is a special privilege and an honor to prepare a home for a family transitioning from the Battered Women's Shelter, and seeing the delight in a high school graduating senior's eyes as we hand out that one-year tuition scholarship is a reward all its own. I admire the continuing work of fellow members and friends in servicing the requests of smaller non-profits with grants for equipment and supplies. My heart was warmed when I saw the appreciation of the women who prepare meals for those in need when they received a much needed new stove. The San Antonio Junior Forum provides valuable services and funds to a broad spectrum of our community.
