Life Unlimited provides support to Rikki's Refuge, a sanctuary in Orange, VA that provides a forever home to all animals there. I was first introduced to Rikki's in 2013. My aunt, an animal lover who also took in all types of strays, was diagnosed with terminal cancer and we needed to find homes for some of her more exotic pets, like her duck. Rikki's took him without hesitation and he lives there to this day. My sister, who does cat rescues, has also taken them many feral cats following spay/neuter. They have taken special needs animals that were abandoned by humans. All the critters are loved and fed and sheltered for as long as they need, even during this year of the pandemic which has been challenging for all non-profits. They have a wonderful, caring staff who go above and beyond to care for the animals. It can be a tough, dirty job, but they do it with enthusiasm because they love the animals. I have continued to support them as much as I can because they are such an excellent organization.
