Mack, oh Mack!!!❤️
We’ve had Mack since he was a puppy. He was the biggest, most handsome dog in the litter! He was very active (as are most labs) and he injured himself and had to have TPLO surgery which included a plate being set to correct the injury 2 years ago. He did very well post surgery and has been in our family for five years. Due to medical issues I was having, with impending surgeries, my husband and I made the decision to relinquish ownership of Mack to Labrador Rescue. This organization was highly recommended to us. It was a very long, drawn out, emotional decision for both my husband and me. But we are at peace knowing it was the right decision for us and especially for Mack.
This organization is truly amazing! From submitting my application, to speaking with Trish (Rescue volunteer) at length on the phone about Mack, to then meeting me at a dog park to get to know Mack more, I felt so comfortable and confident that this was a great way for Mack to find a new family to love him, and give him the care and attention he needed. Trish not only showed care and love for Mack immediately, she was very sensitive to how difficult this was for me. After a tearful goodbye to Mack, I went home knowing he would be in great hands.
Since his placement with Lab Rescue, I have gotten pictures and updates. Unfortunately, after his vet check, they discovered his plate that had been placed during his TPLO surgery needed to be removed, which Lab Rescue scheduled and has kept me updated on how he’s doing! He is now back at his Foster families home, and after two weeks of “kennel rest”, they will start interviewing families to adopt Mack into their home! Yes!, they will interview potential families and find the best fit For Mack!
Overall, my experience with Labrador Rescue has been absolutely amazing! Whether you are needing to re-home a lab or are seeking to adopt a lab, I would highly recommend this organization!!!! The care and concern for Mack and for us, has been exceptional! We will be so excited and happy to hear about Mack’s new home! A special THANK YOU to Trish for EVERTHING you have done and continue to do!!!! Also, thank you to Mack’s Foster family and all the amazingly dedicated volunteers at Labrador Rescue
