I saw so many dead and dying trees that I resolved to get some trees planted in my community.
Canopy helped me make that happen! In fact, their help was essential.
I took their Community Forestry Class, learned about trees and how to plant them, and with Canopy's help created a campaign book of trees, with the emphasis on trees that would be resilent to a warming planet.
Working with GreenTown Los Altos, we launched the 500 Trees campaign. We organized a team of volunteers to visit tree planting sites, select appropriate trees and get them planted. Many of the volunteers were local students, and their excitment at getting their hands dirty and then stepping back to see the tree they had just planted was priceless.
We planted 162 trees.
