With an estimated over 350,000 out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrests (SCA) occurring each year in the United States alone, SCA remains a pressing public health concern. The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation plays a central role in driving awareness of these potentially fatal events and reinforces the role that rapid intervention can have to improve outcomes (immediate bystander-administered CPR can double or triple survival rates, for example). The Foundation envisions a future where survival from SCA becomes the expectation; it is a true honor to serve on its Board of Directors and help contribute to the mission of driving down the medical and societal impact of sudden cardiac arrest.
