My name is Alexandra Maillis-Lynch. I was first a volunteer, then a mentor and now have served as the president of the Board for the past 10 years. I love these children and this Home! It has been an honour and a privilege to share my life with them and I am eternally grateful for this experience. The children have given me far more than I could ever have given them. We have sought to make this a HOME and not just an institution or a holding pen for children that have had difficult beginnings. As I always tell the children, their beginning does not define them or their life. We have worked tirelessly to ensure that they get counselling, mental health support, sound education and that they are well socialized before they enter the 'real' world. Material comforts could never replace the love, care and attention that each child is given in our home. As my term ends, I would like to say how far we have come as a home and that the future looks very bright! Many thanks to everyone that has worked as a team with us, supported us and allowed us to continue the work in this fine example of an Home.
