Patricia Uchello
Review for The Art League, Alexandria, VA, USA
Hi, my name is Patricia Uchello, and I am a member of the Art League Board. I make this organization my main volunteer focus because it is so very well-run and efficient with its resources. The programming at the Art League cannot be matched by much bigger organizations and those with much bigger funding. In addition to fostering the arts for our community, the Art League makes compassion a focus. The SOHO program targets young girls at risk, who have family members who are incarcerated. The staff and volunteers both spend long hours helping the less fortunate. Our education dept. is very well-rounded. Not only have I studied art for many years at the Art League, but I have also learned how to blog and how to use Photoshop.
The Art League deserves your consideration for financial support.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have benefited from a very high quality art education, thanks to the excellent Art League teachers. Although I hold a Masters degree in Art from Pratt Institute, the Art League has actually taught me way more than my MFA ever did. I have bought art supplies from their tiny but great art store, taken at least a hundred classes there, and exhibited probably in a hundred art shows. I have taught their summer camp, worked in their store, and now am a volunteer board member. The AL made me a better artist.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would like to spread the word to the Washington, DC community as to how high quality this organization is. The Art League has wonderful resources and is a star in Alexandria's crown.
