Review for Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, Wexford, PA, USA
I can never overstate the amazing impact the SCA Foundation has had on my wife and I since my wife survived a cardiac arrest in 2016. The list of benefits to SCAF participants are extensive. Examples are survivor resources, depth of information, SCA public health—and it’s all so professionally done and with such care and compassion. Its importance for survivors and caregivers is illimitable. My wife and I have learned so much and feel so fortunate to have gotten involved.
One result of our SCAF participation has been our involvement in three separate national focus groups dedicated to SCA. These were incredibly meaningful to us as ways to give input and help the medical community, patients and caregivers now, and in the future. It was all Mary and SCAF that had the expert contacts in this field and the acumen to help match focus groups with participants. Mary suggested our participation and we gladly signed up.
Recently Mary started yet another incredible resource, the website Cardiac Arrest Survivor Alliance (CASA) that is also dedicated to supporting those affected by SCA. This site requires a login and allows for key people—survivors, caregivers, medical experts—to connect and interact with one another in a safe social platform. Yet, another profound example of the contribution of SCAF, Mary and Lucy (who manages CASA) to this cause.
On top of this, the connections, intellect and heart of the organization’s co-founder, Mary Newman, just make the resources top-notch. Mary, her colleagues and what they accomplish is just outstanding; we feel blessed to have found them.
Review for Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, Wexford, PA, USA
How do I best convey the amazing impact the SCA Foundation has had on my wife and I since she survived a cardiac arrest? The survivor resources, the depth of information, the promotion for helping people understand a SCA—and it’s all so professionally done and with such care and compassion. Its importance for patients and survivors can’t be overstated. Couple that with the connections, intellect and heart of the organization’s co-founder, Mary Newman, and it is top-notch. Mary, her colleagues and what they accomplish is just outstanding; we feel blessed to have found them.
