The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation is a wonderful non-profit because it resonates with people who have experienced cardiac arrest, both survivors and 'ordinary' people who have helped saved lives of those who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). As a survivor myself, I am grateful for the hard work and dedication of everyone involved at the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation. My cardiac arrest occurred 20 years ago, and I learned at the time that there was only a 5% survival rate from SCA. Today, as a result of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundations tireless efforts, the survival rate has doubled to 10%. While this is great news, there is still a huge opportunity to educate the public about recognizing SCA, and the importance of knowing what to do when faced with someone who suffers a SCA. The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation is completely aligned to tackle this challenge, and I look forward to witnessing even higher survival rates in the years to come as a result of all of their hard work.
