BRAC
Review for American Bird Conservancy, Marshall , VA, USA
Blue Ridge Audubon Chapter (formerly known as Elisha Mitchell Audubon Society) of Asheville, North Carolina has worked directly with American Bird Conservancy (ABC) since 2010. Our chapter has donated more than $60,000, raised during our annual Birdathon, to support acquisition and conservation of land for three projects, two in Colombia, SA and another in Nicaragua. ABC has provided more than $20,000 in cost share in direct support of these projects.
These projects are especially meaningful to our chapter as they help preserve and restore habitat for neotropical birds that breed in western North Carolina, among which are Cerulean Warbler, Golden-winged Warbler and Wood Thrush, three species that are especially meaningful to our membership. Every year ABC submits several alternative projects so that our chapter can select a project that will inspire our membership and help us maximize our fundraising.
Blue Ridge Audubon Chapter is proud to partner with the American Bird Conservancy to support the work they do to protect birds and the places birds depend on.
