Review for Lazarex Cancer Foundation, Danville, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My husband had chronic lymphocytic leukemia for about 10 years before we found about Lazarex. We had been driving to MD Anderson in Houston, TX at least every month for a long time and had stayed there for a stem cell transplant and then several other experimental protocols, all involving visits of months duration. At the time I heard of Lazarex from the American Cancer Society. I was desperate and we were on the verge of needing to file medical bankruptcy. We had insurance that covered the medicines, etc. but nothing for the trips or lodging. My husband was increasingly depressed, even suicidal, as we struggled to keep up with bills and cover all the extra expenses. Lazarex saved us by helping with the travel costs, even making it possible for him to fly, as opposed to us driving in a two day trip, to Houston as his treatments became more frequent and he became more debilitated. Eventually, he became so weak that he had to have someone with him to help out and Lazarex paid their travel also. We often discussed how after years of fighting his illness, we were at the lowest point of our lives when Lazarex came to the rescue. He died in 2013 shortly after returning from his final trip down where they discussed one more possible treatment. Thank you for providing help at a time when we felt so alone and without any more resources. Truly Lazarex provides miracles and my family will never forget your help. Bless you.
