Review for South Pasadena Tournament Of Roses Association, S Pasadena, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I grew up working on the SPTOR floats, and it has helped to shape me as a person. Not only has it developed into a long-standing tradition for my family each year to participate (even though we no longer live in LA county), but it helped determine my career path as a landscape designer and project manager.

This particular group has always been hard-working, and they have created some truly spectacular floats in recent years. I love the creativity that goes into making each of these annual masterpieces, and will be a supporter for life!

Review for YPNG, Sn Luis Obisp, CA, USA

Rating: 3 stars

As a former board member of 2.5 years, I can say that this organization is one that strives to be a positive networking group for local young professionals. Though the recent pandemic has made it difficult for any organization to meet, this group has continued to provide virtual mixers, which offer opportunities for locals to connect in a time of disconnection.

I also personally loved participating in their monthly mixers, softball league (I coached for 5 seasons), and other fun sporting and outdoor activities. The board works hard to make sure that events of all sizes are fun and worthwhile. I may not be on the board any more, but I still support the organization and attend events when possible.

Review for Friends Of San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden, Sn Luis Obisp, CA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

This garden is tucked away in a great part of SLO county, and is open and inviting to guests near and far. Though only a small portion of their 150 acres is currently developed, this site has great trails for further enhancing the outdoor experience. I personally enjoy walking the undeveloped portions of the garden, and enjoy strolling through the current Preview, Fire-Safe, and Children's garden areas.

Having been a part of the Planning Committee in recent months, I know the potential this Botanical Garden has, and am excited to see it grow in the coming years. With a strong vision and dedicated team of volunteers and donors, this garden will be world-class, showcasing the best of local histories, education, and mediterranean flora.
