Next Step is one of the original programs supporting young people with chronic illnesses and rare diseases transitioning to adulthood. Besides providing a sense of community and social support, Next Step is different than a "camp." They bring in experts to give workshops and teach life skills to help their participants take charge of their own lives. The programs encourage young people to step out of their comfort zones and have discussions they have never been able to have, with those who have the skills to facilitate.

I have watched Next Step grow since the beginning and will continue to support them and help them grow their audience and donor base. All young people deserve a fulfilling life, and a sense of community- regardless of their diagnosis. Next Step is leading the way with an evidenced based, peer to peer, youth driven model.
