Review for MEND - Meet Each Need with Dignity, Pacoima, CA, USA
How can I say this...M.E.N.D is a meritorious charity group that contributes to the community around it. It has an amazing staff, and even more amazing is the amount of volunteers that spend thier time here at MEND. My time here at MEND has in my opinion "shaped me" into someone who not only appreciates the things he has, but into some one who will take time to help others, because during my time here at MEND, everyone is helping others, and it just kindof rubs off in you. Truely is an amazing feat., and not many groups can pull it off as well as this one.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I haven't been volunteering that long at MEND to say that I have personally experienced the results of MEND, however, I can say that the time I have spent here has changed the way I as an individual looks at things. After school I head to MEND thinking, "Here's another day in the office, wonder what's in stored for me" and when I walk into the actual building I see a bunch of people at different stations, and that reminds me of how important MEND's work is to the community.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I don't think I would change anything in the sense of how this organization operates, since they have done so much for the community. Even If I had a degree in business I believe that MEND has everything under control.
Would you volunteer for this group again?
Definitely
For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?
Some
Did the organization use your time wisely?
Quite well
Would you recommend this group to a friend?
Definitely
What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?
Personally I would like some background music, somewhere among the lines of elevator music, but since MEND is a professional business that's trying to send to help thousands of people, they should keep it as it is. Either way my volunteer experience was incredible wether or not they had soft music in the background.
Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
Yes, yes it did. Before entering I wouldn't really talk to people, if they asked me about a something, but after volunteering my people skills have improved, so now i am actually capable of having a ligit conversation with random people.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
This remarkable experience at MEND makes me feel both happy and sad, since my time volunteering is almost up, but happy in the sake that I participated in an amazing company that is helping literally thousands of people with things that they need to survive.
