Review for Community Food Share, Louisville, CO, USA

Rating: 3 stars

Community Food Share does great work by getting huge amount of food out to people who need it, either through other organizations, or through their family program. They keep the volunteers really busy, and involve a very wide range of ages. I have seen second graders packing potatoes, and I have seen 80 year olds packing beans.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

a good friend of mine found himself in a tough spot. I told him about CFS and they gave him a ton of places where he could actually get food as an individual.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

One thing that I have seen before they all go home for the night, is that the management treats the employees like garbage. They rush through decisions as a reaction to complications, then take eons to work out a new plan that might actually take hold in their day-to-day business. While the poor decision making ability is tossed back and forth, the lower level staffers suffer. Sad for an organization with such reach and impact to do these sorts of things to those right in front of them on a daily basis.

Role:  Volunteer & I helped separate fresh bread from rotten bread, then boxed up the good stuff to go to hungry people.
