My 4-year-old autistic son was barely verbal and would hit his head on anything (including concrete) if we didn't understand him. His pediatrician said it was a phase. I searched and searched articles on behavioral issues. Finally, after reading my millionth (slight exaggeration) article, one of the commenters said "It's the FOOD!" That started me on my quest that ended at the Feingold Association. Three days after putting my son on the Feingold diet, he fell asleep for the first time before 10 pm. Three weeks later, he had completely stopped hitting his head. One month later, he was speaking in full sentences. The Feingold Association forever changed our family life for the better.
