Review for Thanks Plain And Simple Inc, CHARLESTON, WV, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My life and my mother's were so enriched by the work of Anne Montague and Thanks Plain and Simple. Although I knew that Mother had helped to build airplanes during World War II, she never
made a big deal of it. Only after Anne decided to bring attention to and honor the work these women had done to help win World War II, did I realize the great opportunity I had missed to honor my mother and these women with my thesis. Anne first contacted us when she had arranged for Ann Curry to meet with the Rosies in South Charleston, WV. My mother was a very shy woman who never thought that she had done anything special until Anne brought the Rosies to light. It was such a thrill for Mother and myself to attend the events locally, and in Washington D.C. at the World War II Memorial along with my mother-in-law from Ohio. After Anne's work with Thanks Plain and Simple, Mother was invited to lead local Memorial Day parades by the LZ Rainelle (WV)Veterans with the thrill of seeing old friends and acquaintances and to finally realize that what she had done was important. A few years later, Thanks Plain and Simple organized a tribute at the Dutch Embassy in Washington D.C. Although due to health reasons, Mother was unable to attend, but my husband and I were able to take his Mom and a family friend who had made gas masks for the American pilots. The Dutch honored the Rosies for saving the people of Holland by building the planes which dropped food to their starving population. Thanks Plain and Simple has done so much to enlighten later generations to the great work these Rosies did and to honor their service to our country. God bless you for making America aware of their patriotic work and their contribution to the war and our victory.
