As an artist and fellow photographer, I appreciate the efforts of Andrea Maki and Wild Love Preserve beyond measure. A few years ago, I got interested in taking photos of wild mustangs. Since then, I have fallen in love with these truly inspiring animals. Mustangs, iconic animals of the old west, have been pushed onto the most inhospitable lands in the United States, and yet they manage to survive, and even thrive. This despite the efforts of our government to keep their numbers under control. I believe it is important to save the small remnants of wildness that still exist in our country, and to resist what has been called The Sixth Extinction by reputable scientists. Any organization that can garner buy-in from diverse groups and help these animals, which I consider to be national treasures, deserves support.
