Positive Legacy fills your heart while immersing yourself in diverse and rich cultural communities. My personal journey through this organization as a board member has fulfilled my soul, given me the access to truly connect with local people in need and has given me the opportunity to connect people on their vacations with necessary projects with communities that can use a little love. I think providing you with a personal story would be the best way to express my experiences with this nonprofit.

My first Jam Cruise as a board member, the first year Positive Legacy became an organization, we visited Belize. The non profit we visited for our Day of Service was the Monkey Sanctuary that had an after school program that focuses on teaching kids music, specifically with handcrafted hand drums. I happen to have an old pair of congas and brought them down to donate to the program. Emmitt the instructor and myself met at the Day of Service. I personally presented the congas to him and a tear rolled down his eyes. You have to understand that all the drums were hand carved Djembe style drums and he said as a lifelong drummer, he always wanted congas but didn't have access to them. We jammed with members of Leftover Salmon and others together that day. 8 years later we went back to Belize. Emmitt showed up at our Day of Service in a different location. Handed me a homemade little hand drum djembe. We hugged each other again. This time a tear was brought to my eyes.
