Ceres has been very effective in advocating for low-carbon solutions to climate change by helping the financial industry see the economic value of low-C energy, green-building and efficiency. They shined a light on the failings of our financial decisions that focus on a narrow bottom line that does not put value on "externalities" like a safe climate, low pollution and health. The Ceres "scorecards" on the fossil fuel industry and others created a transparent way to evaluate which companies were moving towards sustainability and which were not. Ceres has led the way in NextGen economics on sustainability to help decisionmakers find win-win solutions that benefit Social, Environmental and Economic factors. Financial decisions drive change - and Ceres is creating a new way to make those into better and more holistic decisions.
