Review for FIV Cat Rescue, Fort Bragg, CA, USA
Our no-kill shelter began testing for FeLV and FIV in January. Unfortunately, one of our oldest residents, Mickey, tested positive for FIV. We searched for months to find a rescue or home where he would be an only cat or with other FIV cats. I did my research on FIV, but none of it gave me peace of mind about allowing Mickey to share space with other cats. Then I found FIV Cat Rescue on the internet. As a sort of last ditch effort, I asked for their advice about rehoming him. Frankie Kangas was quick to respond, and sent information on FIV cats that I had not read before. Turns out, if Mickey has been with other cats for 5 years and they have not contracted FIV, it is highly unlikely that they ever will. What a relief! Mickey is so happy to be reunited with his friends. FIV Cat Rescue gave Mickey his life back.
