Review for Orphan Acres Inc., Viola, ID, USA
I just moved to the area and wanted to find a non profit to volunteer at. I went out to Orphan Acres to check it out. The gentleman running the facility Brent was warm and inviting and I could tell right away, he was in love with every equine there. At first we were taking turns giving a herd of horses a turn at being groomed while Brent described a little bit about each horse and their history. He knew each horses story, age and gentle sweet talked them as we groomed them. Next, we went about some chores, cleaning water troughs, getting grain buckets ready, etc. Brent worked right along side of us and was sincerely appreciative of our donation of help. I even met a gal who was had brought her foster girl she supports for some equine therapy. A couple days later, I returned to help again and was greeted with a warm hello and I new I had found my perfect place to donate my extra time and energy! This place is a god send to horses who need a soft place to live out their remainder of life, they are loved and cared for. Thank you Brent ,numerous volunteers and especially donors who make this organization run. Can’t wait to return!
