Review for Orphans Tree Inc, Colorado Springs, CO, USA
On numerous trips over the years to ministry centers, Dacha projects and other efforts, and in keeping in close contact with the dedicated folks who run OT here in the U.S. and in Russia, I've consistently witnessed true love and pure religion (Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. - James 1-27). I can not think of a more devoted team, or frankly, family, to wish on these wonderful young people, and am exceptionally pleased to support in every way I can. I encourage you to, as well!
Orphan's Tree meets a most critical need, and they meet it well. Young, institutionalized people, aging-out of Russian orphanages, instead of having to just fend for themselves, are welcomed like family by caring, loving people, smart programs, and warm facilities. Their dedicated staff, often with the help of volunteers from America, are there for them when they most need, and stay with them like uncles and aunts, through those critical times of establishing their place in their local communities, and the broader world that awaits them. Some need a lot of ongoing help, their backgrounds before and during orphanage life having had great impact. Some have survived the system a little more unscathed, but cultural stigmas and stereotypes work against them, too, and so a little guidance through initial adventures as independent young adults can make all the difference.
