Review for Felidae Conservation Fund, Mill Valley, CA, USA
I volunteer at Henry W. Coe State park and have helped monitor Felidae Conservation Fund cameras placed in the park. The data gathered there helps show how the Mountain Lion might be impacted by visitors and staff. Photos are taken that show what animals pass by the locations and also any visitors or staff who might be in the area. All photos are time stamped so you can see if Mountain Lions are affected by humans in the area or lack of prey. Over months you can get a pretty good picture of the number of Mountain Lions in the area and the prey available to them. We also just had a major fire in the park (SCU Lightning Complex Fire) so we are paying particular attention to how this affects the Mountain Lions in those burned areas.
