The broad nature of Positive Legacy's mission gives it the ability to be agile and grant funds to places where it can do the maximum amount of good. The goal is to make the second million dollars in grants in half the amount of time as it took to grant the first million. I'm happy to report that Positive Legacy is on pace to meet that goal!

We had another amazing Day of Service at the Robin's Nest Children's Home outside of Montego Bay during Jamcruise 20. The Home is on a hilltop and the road up was in rough shape. Giving a significant grant for improvements was rewarding; but, I REALLY enjoyed getting to swing a machete and do something tangible. If you get a chance to participate in a Positive Legacy Day of Service, go for it, it's an amazing experience. The police escort through town was a thrill ride too!

I've been active with Leaving a Positive Legacy for a decade now and it has been amazing to see the cumulative impact that the organization has had to date and the momentum it is carrying into the future. What started as a simple beach clean-up at a port stop on “Jamcruise” will soon have granted over $1M to NGOs doing important work in the US and abroad. Positive Legacy has developed a great measure of expertise in evaluating partner organizations in foreign countries and keeping them accountable for how grant funds are spent. On a personal note, from the donors and fans to the world-class musicians who support the organization, it's been a fun crew to be a part of!

It has been cool to see the impact of this Organization grow through the years. In the early years, Positive Legacy might rally music fans from a festival to go out and paint the exterior of a rural school. Now, they might be going out to BUILD a rural school. If you're a live music fan, Positive Legacy allows you to channel some of the energy that comes with shows into service.
