Capital City Village has brought together members of the Austin community to provide support, social activities and education for Austin's older adults. The social activities and transportation are key to CCV's members and allow for unexected friendships to develop between volunteers and members.

I got involved with CCV as a volunteer and board member in 2012. Volunteering with them changed my life. My husband and I have volunteered for years and became members in 2019. The people and programs have brought us diverse friendships, more satisfaction with our lives and a sense of giving back to our community.

Capital City Village (CCV) has helped me in numerous ways. I began as a board member & volunteer & am now a member, as well. I have developed many improbable friendships with older Austinites I would not have met otherwise. The programs & gatherings not only decrease isolation for our older residents but build strong intergenerational relationships between volunteers & members. My live is better for my involvement with this group of people.
