Review for Society of St. Andrew, Big Island, VA, USA
SoSA is likely the most efficient deliverer of services to the hungry in the nation with overhead expense at less than 5%. It is rare for anyone to learn what SoSA does and how it does it to not be genuinely amazed and motivated in some way to help further its work.

Review for Society of St. Andrew, Big Island, VA, USA
The Society of St. Andrew is an incredibly efficient and effective organization for alleviating hunger. It salvages millions of pounds of nutritious food that would otherwise be wasted and distributes it to food banks, soup kitchens and many other agencies that provide food for hungry people. It does this with an unheard-of overhead rate of just over 4% which results in a cost of less than 2 cents per serving. Every year, more than 30,000 volunteers participate in SoSA's programs stemming from the Christian principle of loving others as we love ourselves
