Review for Center for Food Action in New Jersey, Englewood, NJ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been involved with CFA for 18 years. What impresses me is the dedication to the mission of helping people and achieving this through the use of volunteers with limited paid staff and the broad base of support in community from Houses of Worship, schools, individuals, businesses and foundations. Someone once said it takes a "village". CFA plays a critical role in our village as a safety net when people need help now and other services are not available. CFA also does not sit still. Always looking to find better ways. This year the hours are being expanded to nights and weekend to help the working poor. The new snack pack program to reach children is great opportunity to improve the nutrition and insure kids don't go hungry.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen the faces of our clients when delievering Thanksgiving Dinners. I have visited the sites and met the staff and volunteers for first hand reports. Last week I had the opportunity to meet a volunteer who has worked at CFA every Friday for the last 18 years. He was honored to do it and will continue as long as he can.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Need a broader base of supportors and to find new sources of food donations.
