I was volunteering for 6 months as a part of the Psychosocial Support department at SSI. I am a German student in the field of "International Social Work". Working at SSI was a great opportunity to gain practical experience within my field as well as learning about Botswanas culture. SSI offers a range of different tasks for its volunteers including being involved in the planning of various events and assisting in implementing sessions with the youth. Especially, spending time with the participants was a wonderful experience for me. SSI's employees were always willing to advise me whenever I was in need of it, what created a comfortable working atmosphere.
I would highly recommend volunteering at SSI!
