I am a Big Apple Greeter volunteer for more than 10 years, helping the organization with marketing and communications as my time permits. I've stayed involved this long because I love being part of such a friendly and dedicated community of staff and volunteers. And, as a New Yorker I truly believe in the importance of their mission to show the real New York City to visitors. It's good for the well-being of the city and for humankind.

Big Apple Greeter is a small organization with an enormous worldwide impact. I highly recommend it to prospective volunteers and to travelers who want to experience the real New York City.
