I have supported Big Cat Rescue for years and since I live not far away I have visited multiple times. This is one of the top animal sanctuaries in the world, it is highly regarded, and people who complain that cages are small either have not been there in person, or are lying. The sanctuary gives cats who cannot be returned to the wild a chance to live out their lives with the proper food, medical care, entertaining enrichment to play with, and large compounds. When animals visit the vet, it is videotaped. When animals are moved, it is videotaped. Daily care routines are frequently live broadcast; I know of no other nonprofit animal sanctuary that has this level of transparency. The system of multiple caretakers working together ensures that no one person is ever alone and in a position to be harmed by one of the animals. The sanctuary has a Florida Bobcat Rehab program that rescues injured and orphaned bobcats, is structured to help them learn to take care of themselves, prevents the cats from bonding with humans, and returns them to the wild. That program alone would get my support. Even better, Big Cat Rescue's work extends beyond the sanctuary to support of on-the-ground conservation efforts around the world, and to supporting legislation within the United States to end both animal abuse and private ownership of wild animals. Thank you Big Cat Rescue for all the work you do.

I have supported Gift of Life Marrow Registry for years because they get results. When you donate money you can see what it is used for: real people get the chance to save someone's life. Patients whose faces you see and stories you learn about receive a lifesaving cure for leukemia, or sickle cell disease. Little kids who were born with a genetic disorder receive the bone marrow transplant that lets them live a normal life with a full lifespan. It's incredible work, and I am proud to be able to donate to them -- it isn't much, I'm no millionaire, but I prefer to support charities where I can see tangible results. Gift of Life is the best.
