As a mother of six, I feel it is vital to teach my children the skills necessary to respond when someone is not being kind. This book is a perfect tool to help assist with this and beautifully captures the kind and moral responses needed when someone is being hurtful. This book helped to teach my children to respond with empathy and forgiveness and to not only see the boy being bullied side but it also helped them to understand the place where the bully was coming from. They also learned to speak up if they were the friend not directly being the bully but watching the bully tease someone else. Paramount to human nature goodness is the golden rule and this was a perfect example of treating others the way you would want to be treated, especially when it’s difficult! My girls also loved the creative and silly side of this story using the various pizza creations! They love it so much that they are inspired to create their own pizza masterpieces using chocolate, cotton candy, marshmallows, blackberries, pepperoni....! I believe every child should read this book! I will definitely be reading this to my grandchildren as well!
