I meet the would-be founders of START when we all were independent rescuers sometime in 2006 or so. We all had passion to do the right thing. Years later, START was founded and surpassed everyone's imagination by transporting and relocating at-risk shelter animals to the Pacific Northwest. They saved many, many of the animals I networked to them. Years later, quite by coincidence and through a mutual friend, we discussed some work I could donate for them. I sent them my resume and 6 1/2 years later, I am proud to be their one full-time employee. This is the best rescue there is. They have saved over 13,000 shelter animals in nine years. They help the underdogs. They have provided over 9,000 spay/neuter procedures to underserved communities. They have a heart as deep as the Grand Canyon. And they are fiscally responsible. Made up of only 6 people, they are "The Little Engine That Could"
