Review for Kenya Connect Inc, Elkridge, MD, USA
I visited Kenya Connect's (KC) Learning Resource Center (LRC) in Wamunyu, Kenya with a board member in 2016 and all I can say is that KC is doing wonderful and life changing activities in Kenya. We went to visit and deliver books and craft materials for the KC LRC from Sharon, the Director. We conducted a career discussion with the students who were very eager to learn about the various career opportunities available to them based on their skills and passions. This was an awesome time to engage with the young students and I could sense how KC had impacted their lives in a very positive way. KC has a computer lab for the students where they learn how to use the computers, 3D technology and I also learned that the students have been introduced to writing emails to other students here in the US, they also join video conferences and learn from each other a lot quicker and an extension of the original snail-mail penpal program. This allows the students be more exposed to the world and think outside the box. KC's LRC also provides a library within the same building where students read and borrow books. The students were really excited and greatly benefit from the KC educational programs and that is why some told us they come from very far to come and learn new things at the KC Center. I highly commend KC for the valuable work it does in that part of eastern Kenya (Wamunyu) and make a positive impact to many kenya children and youth. As a fellow Kenyan, I am extremely proud of KC's initiatives, and the flawless execution of the programs by James, Patrick and the entire team.
