The management team at This Old Horse has an extraordinary leader, Nancy Turner. They have brilliant ideas to rescue, rehab and rehome horses.
One idea was to take the off the track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs) and send them to the U of Wisconsin- River Falls for the Equestrian program to re-train OTTBs. This re-homes the horses and gives the Equestrian program an opportunity to work with them. This will help them in their future careers with horses. I love the way this non-profit enriches the community!
Pasture partners are another idea where kind folks with extra pasture take some of the horses!
Personally they have helped me out when one of my horses was recovering from colic surgery and needed rehab! I could not give her the care she needed. Cannot thank them enough for rescuing her.
With other ideas in the works, I can't wait to see what they come up next!

The folks at This Old Horse are the kindest people I’ve ever met. They take very good care of any and all souls that wash up on their shore.
Even the wild mustangs warm up to them.
They are fabulous to their volunteers and have a lot of fun programs too.
I’ve been with the group since 2014.
