I didn’t spend a long time here, I was not at all a fan of the teaching. I left after they tried convincing me that my life long love for music was an “idol” that I needed to completely give up. They basically try to convince you to give up everything that makes you an individual, then they take that person and mold it into their product. I watched it happen to my classmates. Narrow Gate is a fitting name, there’s one gate shaped one way and you either go thru and lose everything, or you get out of the way. I wasn’t bullied or anything, they treated me decently and I had some good times with my classmates. The director and his wife were gone basically my entire time there, the only person we always had access to was an early 20s staff member who was once a student himself. I’ve heard a handful of horror stories about stuff that went on there, but my short experience was pretty tame and disappointing. Idk what Narrow Gate’s future is but I hope it can fall into some capable hands because it’s a great idea in theory.
