Review for Laughing Pony Rescue Inc, Rancho Santa Fe, CA, USA
I started volunteering at Laughing Pony Rescue in the spring and it has become the highlight of my week. As an organization, it is run so beautifully with care for the horses, donkeys, goats (and wild bunnies) as its primary mission but also care of the people who volunteer there as a top priority. Many volunteers have been coming for 10+ years. The stories of what happened to the animals before they came to LPR will break your heart and the life they now have will heal it back up again. If you're looking for a place where your donations go directly to the care of the animals, where the people are truly kind, and where you can feel good about the difference you're making, donate to LPR.
Review for Labrador Rescuers, San Diego, CA, USA
San Diego Lab Rescuers is amazing. The process of applying to rescue a lab is intense, but it's so worth it. The home visit (done virtually during COVID) ensured that the dog we adopted was right for our space and the questions about doggie visitors and kids in the house were really insightful and helped the right dog come to our home - and stay forever. We adopted Phoenix, he's 5 and he's an 80lb chocolate lab who loves to swim and frolic. He's so bonded to the family already, we can't imagine life without him. I'd highly recommend getting your application in if you are interested in adopting.
