I have been a NJ volunteer for 4 years now fostering and participating in adoption events and even visiting the Rescue in GA. Scott and his crew go the extra mile to care for the dogs in every way. Resources are limited but each dog is loved. All my fosters (60 plus) have been great dogs and I encourage anyone with the time and interest to foster. It is very rewarding. SoCo is located in rural GA where there are no services for unwanted dogs and receives no government support and therefore depends on generous donors to continue the amazing work.

Pam and Tom save lives! As a foster for SoCo Rescue, I take the adult dogs who are challenged with fear and some times behavior issues due to their past trauma. We recently had a fellow named Deuce who lived outdoors in a pen with very little socialization. Deuce was frightened of everything and would hardly leave his bed even when in a friendly home. Pam was eager to work with with Deuce and took him for several half day sessions to help him relax and adapt to new situations. As with many rescue dogs, Deuce was especially fearful of men. Tom's gentle manner put him at ease and he began enjoy walks. Thanks to Doing Right by Rescues, Deuce started to trust and we learned how to best care for him in foster. When the right person came along for Deuce, Pam met with him and assessed his readiness for handling Deuce and educated him on how to help Deuce thrive. Deuce was adopted and now is living in a loving home. This would not have been possible without the special training and care from Doing Right by Rescues. Thank you Pam and Tom!
