This is Petey and he has a twin. I saw Petey a couple of weeks ago while out walking my Giants and he didn’t run from us like a couple other neighborhood cats. So I returned after our walk to feed him some leftover fish a friend left at my house. He was calm, a little shy but hungry. I reached out to my girlfriend who traps and rescues cats to see if I could borrow her trapper and hopefully get this little guy neutered and more food. I returned the next few nights and didn’t see him but spoke with the homeowner, Ada, where I fed Petey nights before and she had been feeding him plus 3 others since April.
While on another walk with the Giants I ran into another pair of neighbors and the wife works with C5 which is a vegas local cat trap-fix-release no profit. So the 3 of us ended up trapping Petey last night and he stayed over in my bathroom(the pups knew there was a new scent in the house). I met Ada at the vet this morning with Petey to get him medical attention compliments of Ada!
Turns out Petey was FIV positive and had major medical issues in his mouth that Ada was willing to cover but we couldn’t find a foster in time willing to take a feral, yet seemed friendly enough, cat. Rest in love Petey, and may you be relieved of pain.
