The OURF is a fantastic foundation that truly cares about the well being for orangutans and does an incredible job in creating programs that are both proactive and sustainable. It’s founder, Dr. Gary Shapiro, has a dedication to orangutans that is utterly inspiring and his drive to save the species translates into motivating the whole OURF team.
As a volunteer for the organization, I can attest to the supportive community that this foundation is built on. When you contribute your time to this cause you're always included in discussions and appreciated for your efforts. I’ve met some amazingly generous and enthusiastic people while participating in this non-profits events and am so glad to be a part of it.
When I first heard about the OURF I had only planned to donate to the cause, but there is something about this foundation that instills a desire to want to do more. If your looking to be a part of a non-profit that allows you to contribute at a pace that is comfortable for you and allows you to apply your strengths towards environmental conservation, then OURF is perfect for you!
