Review for Salesian Missions Inc, New Rochelle, NY, USA
Imagine my surprise to get raffle tickets and mailing labels from a charity-Salesian Missions- I didn't know. My name has been sold to other Catholic charities in the past month. I now am getting letters seeking funds regardless of my interest. This suggests a fundraising mill which the comments received here in the last year suggest . I do not have reason to suppoert Salesian Missions/ I warn the Salesian Missions marketing staff they will alienate other Catholic donors . Raffle tickets are not a tax deductible donation per IRS. it's gambling. I would avoid any charity using raffles. I give to Catholic charities from my heart with ample dollars to feel I can say no to this engineered campaign..
The sweepstakes is a means to raise more awareness and encourage giving for the poor in our missions. The goodwill and compassion from caring people like you, helps better the lives of children and families around the world. Thankfully, the generosity that is stimulated by the sweepstakes has been more than sufficient to cover the costs. This is just one way of participating and partnering with us to ultimately help make the world a better place. Simply put, including the sweepstakes in our fundraising efforts results in a more positive outcome. The better the results, the better it is for the youngsters in our Missions.
