My Nonprofit Reviews

I joined WiserEarth in September of 2010, and have met and communicated with individuals from all parts of the world through this social network since that time. This provides me with a much richer community of similar minded people than I find just in my home community of St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The tools at WiserEarth have allowed me to create a discussion group on the topic of "Internet Access For Everyone," and within this discussion group, a couple of wikipages on "Plan for Worldwide Demilitarization" and "Propose/Appraise Carbon Tax." The interaction through these tools helps me feel connected to a larger whole that is exploring ways to engage in non-violent system-level change. It would be nice to see larger numbers of people participating in these discussion groups. On the other hand, all social networking over the Internet, especially within the social change movement, is still in a very early stage of development. Perhaps everything that is happening is right on time.

The existing social networking tools at WiserEarth are fairly complete as they are. I especially appreciate the assistance that has been provided by members of the WiserEarth staff in learning how to use the tools effectively. It's up to us to use the tools.
