I found TASP through serendipity while searching for a senior cat on Petfinders.com. These folks are dedicated volunteers. They have a very detailed adoption process, which is focused on the animal's needs as well the adopter's lifestyle. Everyone they contacted as references reported to me how much they loved talking to them and the good feeling they got about the organization. Ollie came for a visit on Aug 9th and promptly hid in the closet (he's a big guy and can open the bi-fold independently). Within a week he started hanging out on the window seat and usurping my side of the bed! I believe his transition was made easier by the loving attention he received when he was rescued. I will forever be grateful to and supportive of this outstanding organization.
