I really was unsure PAALS could survive as an organization during the Pandemic. They not only survived, but they also thrived. PAALS was able to reduce staffing to the minimum to save costs, but they continued training all the young pups in their care on a routine basis. Volunteer Fosters took on a number of middle age pups and continued their training at their homes. When trainers could not gather together anymore, a trainer held virtual training meetings with all the full-time fosters to address any issues or concerns. Additionally, PAALS staff were able to hold two team training events to place five trained dogs with their new partners. All was done to standard and in accordance with all CDC health guidelines. I am so proud to be a member of this outstanding, caring organization!
